This is not an official meetup, just something that I thought might be of interest. The Discovery Center is at 2940 N Lincoln Ave in Chicago and they have a Singing Styles Seminar this Sunday.

Course 1626 - Sing Naturally @ Discovery Center - 3 Hours

Forget about breathing exercises, "singing from your stomach" and other "techniques" that usually get you nowhere, are confusing and most importantly, do not get you singing "free and easy", which is what singing should feel like.

This 3 hour seminar is geared toward popular singing styles (rock, pop, R&B, country, jazz, blues and everything in between), as well as microphone singing.

Closet singers who enjoy karaoke, open mics, and professionals and serious amateurs who want to switch from classical style to popular styles will benefit from this enlightening seminar. If you need a new "lightbulb" to go on when it comes to singing, this seminar is for you!

All levels and backgrounds are welcome! Singing is a great way to relax as well as get over shyness, inhibition, and gain confidence. The instructor uses a fun, enthusiastic, and nonjudgmental approach.

Please do not eat at least 2-3 hours before seminar and bring a bottle of water! And come prepared to sing! We will do sing-a-long in addition to solo singing. Hope to see you there!
